Goa has a rich local tradition with quaint peculiarities that are common to the Goan community. The mixed Portuguese flavor can be sensed in almost every walk of Goa’s life, from its architecture and music and dance, its language, fairs and festivals, to most evidently, on its cuisine.

Religion and culture are another name for India. Goa has a number of temples, Churches and Mosques. Referred to as the Rome of the East, Goa shelters some of the most spectacular Churches in the country. A multicultural state Goans are said to be peace loving people. Be it Catholics, Hindus or Muslims all Goans live in harmony with each other.

People of different religious make sure to enjoy themselves at the different festivals celebrated in Goa every year. The most popular festivals celebrated in Goa are Christmas, Easter, Ganesh Chaturthi, Easter, Sanvsar Pavdo, Shigmo and the Goa Carnival. Goa is also known for its New Year’s celebrations.
